Mini's

So this week I've just got a bit of this and a bit of that to comment on :-)

First up, new Marvel series "Loki: Agent of Asgard".  First, again, NO SPOILERS.  At least, I don't think I will be giving anything away . . .  Anywho I will be honest, I am not the most knowledgeable comic nerd, but I am certainly learning and finding my particular shall we say niche?  I certainly know about Loki's exploits - God of Mischief turned God of Evil, then dies attempting to do good.  But of course, he had to be brought back somehow because how could Marvel destroy such an awesome villain?  Alas, he was reincarnated, a child, and had no recollection of his former life until Thor found him.  So now, in this series, the child has grown and is a 007, so to speak, for the All-Mother of Asgard, and my, my he has grown.  His overall demeanor is that of a smart aleck, crap-starting, trickster, but it does seem like he is repentant.  He only remembers parts of his former life and doesn't really want to be shaped by it.  This is a very different side of Loki and I'm interested to see where the writer, Al Ewing, takes it.  There may even be a little controversy surrounding this Loki as Mr. Ewing has stated the character is indeed Bisexual and that he will "be touching on that".  But, until he actually does that, I will save any comments/discussion for later.

Second, Titanfall Online Beta.  Ohmygoodness, this game is so awesome.  Basic premise, first person shooter with mechs called Titans.  This is hardly a new concept, humans piloting robotic armor, but the game itself is pretty solid.  As a pilot you are able to fight Titan to Titan, Titan to human, human to Titan, and sometimes human-Titan to Titan.  Explanation: one feature is that you can exit your Titan but still have it battle either from one spot or while following you around.  The battle mechanics include melee, an arsenal of weapons for both pilot and Titan, and free running.  NOTE:  Free running is for the pilot and not the Titan, but wouldn't a free running mech be absolutely amazing?!  Free running makes allows the player to be creative with vantage points and attacks.  As it is only in Beta, there are only two maps available, but I've found them to be fairly extensive.  Combining the maps with the free running and the fact that pilot and Titan can fight simultaneously?  This game is ridiculous!

The full game launches on March 11 on Xbox One and PC and on March 25 for the Xbox 360.  Ya'll need to check it out, at the link, the link below, down there.

Third and last, and just for giggles, Team Four Star's Dragonball Z Abridged.  This is a kind of  and oldie-but-a-goodie" type situation, but not exactly?  This YouTube series, started in Summer of 2008 and still ongoing, is a fan-based parody involving Akira Toriyama's Dragonball Z series beginning with the Saiyan Saga.  For those of you who don't know (is that possible?) DBZ is an amazing anime, but it does have some . . . odd moments that just beg to be made fun of and Team Four Star does this most amazingly.  I made the kind of mistake of attempting to watch it at work - I do not recommend doing it.  Now I will randomly quote characters and . . .just watch it, you will laugh.

And, of course, check out the parody!

And for kickles (kicks and giggles) - watch the show!
