Games and Shows!

Hello all!  Sorry for the lateness of the post - my birthday was last weekend!  So I was running around for that :-)  Now, what have I got here?

First up, Borderlands the Pre-Sequel!  **POSSIBLE SPOILERS ALERT!**  Ended up having to buy it a few days after release, BUT I've been playing the heck outta that bad boy!  I am rocking Nisha the Lawbringer.

1. First and foremost, got to say I love her Action Skill - at this point, she goes into bulls-eye mode and if you use your sights she pretty much headshots whatever you aim at.
2. Second, I am having a terrible time getting used to working with Handsome Jack (in this installment he is just Jack).  Seriously, I want to shoot him every time I see him and I can't do that because he isn't technically the bad guy at this point.  It is very unnerving.
3. And third . . . MOXXI IN REGULAR CLOTHES!

When first I saw this, I just kind of sat there mouth-breathing.  I knew Moxxi was bad-ass even while scantily clad, but this confirms she is both sexy and bad-ass and happy to do some dirty work.  LOVE THIS!

Second up, was finally able to dig into both Gotham and The Flash.  **POSSIBLE SPOILERS ALERT!**  Initial thoughts on Gotham:

1. There are a few oddities.  For example, young Bruce Wayne being kept up to date on open cases.  Seems odd, BUT makes sense considering the universe they are in.
2. Penguin - wow did they choose the right guy.  I was always fascinated by Penguin as a child.   My first experience with him was Tim Burton's version of Batman, but as I watched the animated series and read some comics I realized that he wasn't quite the same kind of crazy as the others.  He is purely driven by a desire for power, which has clearly been warped by the madness of the city.  But when you compare him to the other villains in the Batman universe . . . he just isn't quite the same.  Then again, the series is young . . .
3. WATCH THIS SHOW; IT'S AWESOME!

Initial thoughts on The Flash:

1. I always thought Barry Allen was older than how he is portrayed in this series.  That being said, still doing an awesome job.
2. I am very impressed with the graphics.  I'm no expert, but it is very clean and something I would expect to see in the cinema.
3. WATCH THIS SHOW; IT'S AWESOME!

Emerald City Comic Con 2014 (Did I mention there is an Emerald City Fatale in here????)

Hello everybody!

Sorry I haven’t written in a while – was prepping for Emerald City Comic Con and my focus had a lot of . . . well, focus.  Now the con is over – sad day!  I'd give you a full rundown of everything, but there was a lot so I'll just give you some things that stood out.

First, shout out to an Artist!  I may or may not have mentioned that I really enjoy Artist Alley at any Con.  It's a chance for everyone to show how creative they can be.  That being said, I found a gentleman by the name of Michael Dooney and his pieces are beautiful.  Of particular interest is his 1887 series which features heroines and villainess-es(?) in Victorian era clothing.  I was especially impressed with Mr. Dooney's attention to detail.  Take a look for yourself:

Second, shout out to a vendor!  I was wandering through the exhibitors when a chocolates stand caught my eye.  Now, my first impression was “Meh, whatever . . .” and then I tasted one.  OMGOODNESS.   Not only does Truffle Cottage make nerdy themed candies, they actually taste amazing.  I had the Companion Cube, which I was told was cookies n’ cream.  BUT NO, it wasn’t just cookies n’ cream flavored.  The shell was creamy and the inside was this cookie dough cake mixture of delicious.  I was certainly amazed and most pleased that it wasn't just chocolate poured into a nerdy mold.  Mega thumbs up to this company and I hope to see them around more often.  Check them out below:

Yes, I chowed down in my Mad Moxxi cosplay because hungry.  Here is a better shot :-)

I also have a special treat for you all . . . an Emerald City Fatale!  Today’s Fatale is my talented friend Doc Misery.  He specializes in making any (and all) costumes his own with a dark flair and a dash of blood.  He is a prop making genius from small guns and knives to over the top hammers and scythes that light up and move and make noise.  His cosplay of choice at the moment is a Psycho from the Borderlands series.   FUN FACT: he actually thought of, designed, and created a Buzzaxe before Krieg the Pyscho was released.  We all thought he was a tad psychic for a second there.  You can see him wandering around spouting madness about acid cleanings and scaring small children and adults.  And yes, he did come around a corner and a bunch of children started crying and screaming – not intentional, but take a look at this photo and you’ll understand why.
